May 1–5, 2024  |  Parish Office  |  Diocese

All Saints Anglican Church, World Bank Housing Estate, Umuahia, was honoured to host the 1st Session of the 11th Annual Synod of the Diocese of Umuahia (Anglican Communion), held from Wednesday, 1st May to Sunday, 5th May, 2024.

The Synod was presided over by the President of the Synod and Bishop of the Diocese, His Lordship, the Rt. Rev. Dr. Geoffrey Obijuru Ibeabuchi. The theme for the Synod was "Sitting at the Feet of Jesus: The Right Choice" based on Luke 10:38-42.

The Synod addressed key national, state, and ecclesiastical issues, calling on the Federal Government to address economic hardships, release of the IPOB leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, improve power supply, and create enabling environments for Nigerian youth. "But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you." — Matthew 6:33

Jesus calls us to a radical reordering of priorities. When we put God's Kingdom first in our finances, time, relationships, and ambitions, He promises to take care of our every need. Today, examine what you are seeking first.
