Our Story

A Legacy of Faith & Grace

All Saints Anglican Church, World Bank Housing Estate, Umuahia, stands as one of the prominent parish churches in the Diocese of Umuahia under the Province of Aba, Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion). Established to serve the growing Christian population of the World Bank Housing Estate community, the church has grown from a small congregation into a thriving, multi-generational parish.

Over the decades, All Saints has been a beacon of the Anglican faith in Umuahia — hosting key diocesan events, nurturing hundreds of families, and serving the wider Umuahia community through worship, education, and social outreach.

In 2024, the church was honoured to host the 1st Session of the 11th Annual Synod of the Diocese of Umuahia, held May 1–5, 2024, under the theme "Sitting at the Feet of Jesus: The Right Choice" (Luke 10:38-42), presided over by the Rt. Rev. Dr. Geoffrey Obijuru Ibeabuchi, Bishop of the Diocese.

Key Milestones

Foundation
Parish Established

All Saints Anglican Church was established in World Bank Housing Estate to serve the spiritual needs of the growing residential community in Umuahia.

Early Years
Congregation Grows

Under the faithful leadership of early vicars, the congregation grew steadily. Key ministries including the choir, Sunday school, and women's guild were established.

Development
Church Building Completed

The main church sanctuary was completed, providing a permanent worship home for the growing congregation and marking a significant milestone in the parish's history.

Growth
Youth & Ministries Flourish

The youth fellowship, men's fellowship, and other ministry arms were formally constituted, bringing new energy and dynamism to the parish's spiritual life.

Diocese
Diocese of Umuahia

The parish continued growing under the Diocese of Umuahia, under the leadership of successive Bishops including the current Rt. Rev. Dr. Geoffrey Obijuru Ibeabuchi.

2024
Host of the 11th Diocesan Synod

All Saints had the distinguished honour of hosting the Diocese of Umuahia's 11th Annual Synod — a major landmark in the parish's history and testimony to its standing in the diocese.

What We Believe

Our Core Beliefs

Holy Scripture

We believe the Holy Bible — the Old and New Testaments — is the inspired, infallible Word of God and the supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

The Holy Trinity

We believe in one God existing eternally in three persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — co-equal, co-eternal, and co-substantial.

Salvation by Grace

We believe salvation comes through faith in Jesus Christ alone — His atoning death, resurrection, and lordship — as a free gift of God's grace, not earned by works.

The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit indwells, guides, and empowers every believer for holy living, spiritual gifts, and fruitful ministry in God's Kingdom.

The Church

We believe the Church is the body of Christ, called to worship, fellowship, discipleship, ministry, and evangelism — one, holy, catholic and apostolic.

The Sacraments

We uphold the two dominical sacraments ordained by Christ — Holy Baptism and the Holy Eucharist — as outward signs of inward grace, rightly administered in the Anglican tradition.

Our Diocese

Diocese of Umuahia

All Saints Anglican Church is a parish in the Diocese of Umuahia, one of nine dioceses within the Anglican Province of Aba, itself one of 14 ecclesiastical provinces within the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion).

The Diocese is presided over by the Rt. Rev. Dr. Geoffrey Obijuru Ibeabuchi as the Bishop. The Diocese is committed to evangelism, church planting, education, and holistic community development across Umuahia and the Abia State region.
